Some of my earliest, fondest and dearest lasting memories of my maternal grandparents are forever inscribed in my soul, as they recited classic poetry by heart to me by day and night. They were both gifted storytellers and brought even the longest poems to life. I was fortunate enough to be able to have them around and even wake them up in the middle of the night to hear yet another story and poem. Their love and respect for the family and the true essential ingredients of life, and especially their humility and passion for real food and that of the soul they passed on... Rest in peace, Gustav and Mathilde Salewski!
